Ice Riding

We went on the ice this last weekend for what might be the last time. We have been on the ice about 6 times this season which is on the higher side sometimes the ice is only good for 1 or 2 rides. We ride with a large varity of bikes from small 50cc bikes to bigger 100 to 150cc bikes , an automatic scooter like dirt bike, some full size bikes and quads, the first point is for everybody to have fun. It also turns out to be good training for the dirt season. Everyone we ride with uses either screws that are designed for the ice and provide almost as much grip as riding on the pavement, or we use machine screws which provide less traction so we can get use to the feeling of the back of the bike sliding and how you have a lot of control of the slide by using the throttle. This turns out to be very usefull in dirt riding as getting a feel for the back of the bike will help to get through the turns better resulting in faster laps and better finishes. Well it is not looking good for the rest of the ice season, we can only hope for 1 or 2 more rides but on the plus side that also means riding in the dirt is just that much closer.

Off Season

Well its the middle of the off season and it can get pretty boring here at the HSOW. We take this time to set up displays and rearrange things to give them a fresh look and to make room for the new product that are coming in from now until the middle of March. Most people are not thinking of motorcycles this time of year but honestly this is the best time to purchase because not only is it nice to have something to do in these slow times but you will get a better "Deal" with sales slow. One thing people do not realize is that the rebates are the highest in December and slowly get smaller as Spring get here. So not to sound to much like a sales person but the off season truly is the time to buy. One other thing we do like to do to pass the winter by is to ride on the Ice but that will be a story all itself.

When it finally comes time to make that motorcycle purchase that you have been dreaming of don't forget to do your homework. You have spent a considerable amount of time on the internet, talking to friends maybe even bought a motorcycle magazine and now you know all the specs better than any salesperson and you have called around to see who has one and you think you are ready wait: Ask yourself a few questions, do I know what my credit score is, can I afford the payment at the low rate, what if I don't qualify for the lowest rate or is the dealer trying to increase the rate for their own benefit. Knowing your credit score can help you answer most of these questions. Go in knowing your score and you will not be afraid to ask "is this the lowest rate I can get?” Most people will haggle about the price for days but when it comes time to finance they will surprisingly ask very few questions. Educated buyers are the best buyers because they are prepared and confident. So do your homework and you won't become a victim. Oh and we will also help uneducated buyers.

When calling around to get the lowest price remember, when you find a Dealer that has a price that is a lot lower than everyone else you should always be skeptical, when that happens the price is almost always added back just like with these people. The best "Deal" is not always the cheapest price, go visit the dealer, see how you are treated, good dealers want you to come back for service, parts and your next bike and will treat you with respect. But some dealers just want to confuse you into thinking you are getting a good price and take advantage of your excitement buy advertising a really low price and then adding it all back in when it comes time to sign the paperwork. With the way credit is today no one can afford to be a victim of these kinds of places so keep your head up, pay attention and remember you will never be overcharged at Honda Suzuki of Warren.
